Sunday, August 9: Guided tours Fred Schley

Fred Schley organizes a guided tour of his exhibition: "BACK IN THE MUSEUM !" in the Museum Slager every half hour on Sunday 9 August Fred Schley provides information about the new landscapes and portraits that he painted especially for this exhibition. The first tour starts at 13.30:XNUMX

Fred Schley, who lives and works in Rosmalen, enjoys national and international fame as a realistic and refined painter of landscapes and portraits. His works have often been exhibited, both in the Netherlands and in the United Kingdom. Twice before he had solo exhibitions in Museum Slager. But this exhibition shows that Fred Schley has taken a new direction. A more personal style. Each painting has its own story and demands attention. That produces a lot of appreciation and surprises.

From an early age, Fred Schley painted landscapes of England and Scotland, inspired by his many travels in the United Kingdom. Now he has discovered the Dutch landscape. We see the result in paintings with scenery and landscape in the area of 's-Hertogenbosch - including Wamberg, the Bossche Broek, the Iron Man and the area around the Maximakanaal - and flower fields and polders in other parts of the Netherlands.

The yellow gallery of Museum Slager is reserved for the portraits of Fred Schley. Previously, Fred Schley often painted the portraits on commission. Now he has taken the initiative himself. On display are portraits of friends, girlfriends and other people who are very close to Fred Schley and self-portraits: very personal and freely painted.

There is now also a children's studio in the yellow room. Museum Slager already participated in actions of Museum Kids. The new treasure hunt encompasses the entire museum: both the family's collection Slager as the exhibition BACK IN THE MUSEUM! by Fred Schley. And in the yellow room, children can now also draw and color their own self-portrait.

The exhibition BACK IN THE MUSEUM! by Fred Schley, with new landscapes and portraits, is in until 11 October 2020 Museum Slager to see. Ask visitors to pre-register on the website museumslager. Com.
